401(k) Savings Plan

Carboline offers a 401(k) savings plan to employees over 21 years of age with 3 months of service. Employees can contribute up to 50% of their pay into this pre-tax savings account. Our parent company, RPM, matches 100% on the first 3 percent contributed, and 50% on the 4th and 5th percent contributed for a total of 4% match on the first 5% contributed.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Carboline provides company-paid AD&D benefits equal to 2 times pay or a scheduled amount for loss of limbs. Employees may purchase additional AD&D coverage up to 3 times pay (or a maximum of $300,000) for a total of 5 times pay.

Business Casual Dress Code

Our Corporate facility has a business casual dress code.

Business Travel Insurance

Carboline provides company-paid death benefits, if death is a result of an accident while traveling on company business, up to 5 times pay.


Dental insurance is automatically provided to employees that enroll in one of our medical plans or you can select a Dental Only plan. Carboline offers two Dental plan options, covering routine care, major restorative care and orthodontia.

Disability Pay

Carboline provides short-term disability pay to all employees recovering from injuries or short-term illnesses. If you have less than five years of service, there is a reduction in your benefits. After 6 months of short-term disability, employees are eligible to apply for company-paid Long Term Disability benefits.

Educational Assistance

Carboline will reimburse employees for up to 100% of their tuition depending upon the grade received on approved course(s) at an accredited institution. Limits apply.

Employee Assistance Program

Carboline provides an Employee Assistance Program to all employee and their family members. It's a diverse program, offering confidential counseling services, financial resources, legal support, specialists that provide customized research and referrals to suite your needs, and online information.

Eye Med Vision Plan

Employees can choose to participate in a vision wellness program that offers periodic eye exams and prescription eyewear at a reduced price.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Employees may contribute up to $5,000 of their earnings pre-tax to an optional Health Care Flexible Spending Account and $5,000 of their earnings pre-tax to an optional Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account.

Life Insurance

Carboline provides company-paid term life insurance of 2 times your pay. Employees may also purchase additional term life insurance coverage up to 5 times pay for a total coverage of 7 times pay or a total maximum of $600,000.

Medical Plans

Aetna's Open Choice PPO Plan is our provider for nationwide coverage. Within Aetna, employees have the option of an 80/20 coinsurance plan or a 90/10 coinsurance plan. In addition to our PPO plan, we offer an HMO plan for employees at our St. Louis headquarters. Employees may elect to cover themselves and family members. Dental Insurance is automatically provided to employees that enroll in one of the medical plans. The plan covers routine care, major restorative care and orthodontia.

Paid Holidays

We offer 10 paid holidays per year. New schedules are issued on an annual basis.

Pet Insurance

Carboline offers their employees Pet Insurance at a discounted rate. A variety of plans, including wellness and major medical, are available for various types of animals.

RPM Pension Plan

Carboline offers a defined benefit plan based on years of service and average final annual pay. Employees are vested in the pension benefit after five years of service.

RPM Stock Plan

Employees may purchase RPM stock through payroll deduction. Minimum purchase is $10.00 per pay period.


We offer competitive vacation benefits. You earn vacation each month. New employees may take vacation after 30 days employment.
